How to tell if you have a worn throttle shaft?

What would be the tell tale signs and symptoms of a worn throttle shaft on a fuel injected bike?  Does it make any specific noise or is there a way to check for this issue?

irradic idle - extended crank time cold or hot - possible t.p.s. codes - sticky throttle that wont return to base setting. ect.
